USDA Foods Offered for NSLP

USDA Foods Available

Minimize

USDA makes available, nationally, approximately 180 foods for the NSLP program.  TDA makes available 145, of the 180, to CEs via the TX-UNPS Annual, Periodic and Processing Surveys.  TDA orders USDA Food for the NSLP based on school demand.   The demand for each type of food must equal a truckload quantity, i.e., 912 cases for canned fruits or vegetables or 1100 cases of fine ground beef.

A CE can request to add an item that is offered by USDA but not on the Annual or Periodic (for direct ship schools) surveys by sending the request to  CommodityOperations@TexasAgriculture.gov.
